° Apple has posted a new AirPods Pro-focused ad called “Jump” on its YouTube channel. It highlights the Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency features of the earbuds.

° In a blog post the crowdfunding Asahi Linux project has published the first progress report detailing its effort to port Linux to the Apple Silicon platform with the M1 Macs.

° Global Times reports that Apple CEO Tim Cook will attend the China Development Forum (CDF), an annual high-level event hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council, China’s cabinet, later this month.

° According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple, Google, and other high tech firms are hiring local lobbyists and immersing themselves in the minutiae of proposed legislation to limit their scope, according to state representatives.

° Speaking of which, a survey of 1,500 tech employees found that 77% of them think that Apple, Amazon, Google, and Facebook have too much power. The survey was carried out by Protocol, from the publisher of Politico.

° A report from Svetapple says that some iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini devices are suffering from discoloration on the aluminum chassis.
