HD For Indies has a Write-Up on How To Do Low Cost, Uncompressed HD Editing Stations for Under $18K
Hi there -
I run a website called HD for Indies, I write about HD for independent filmmakers with a focus on high quality, low cost solutions. I've just written two articles about breakthrough stuff to bring down the cost of HD editing systems.
The first article is an overview article on putting all the low cost HD solutions together - how to build a G5 based, 3.2 TB RAID 5, 3 Apple LCD monitor editing station with HD monitoring for under around $17,500 with all off the shelf, currently shipping hardware/software. The height of the barcode can be changed from 10% to 999% of the nominal size. The barcode size (if printed at 100%) is displayed, in inches and in millimeters.
