Inventive Releases iClip 3 Productivity Software for Mac OS X
Major Update Features Pop-up Previews, Launcher Capabilities, Dock-less Operation, Clipping Naming, Valentina Database Engine
Inventive, Inc. announces the release of iClip version 3 productivity software for Apple Macintosh computers with OS X. iClip is a multiple clipboard/scrapbook application designed to improve user efficiency and productivity for various computing tasks.
New in iClip 3 are pop-up previews that enable quick viewing of clipping contents. File aliases can now be stored in iClip, adding file launcher capabilities to it. iClip 3 now operates without appearing in the Dock, saving valuable space. Other enhancements include the ability to name clippings, to aid in quickly identifying them, and new "action buttons" that provide easy access to various clipping functions.
iClip functions as a floating window that allows users to store and retrieve various clippings, such as text, pictures, URLs, movies, etc. in it's multiple bins. Clippings can be arranged into groups to keep users organized. iClip helps eliminate redundant typing, especially in tasks like filling out online forms. It's widely used to assist general purpose tasks such as word processing, web browsing, and research, while webmasters, graphic designers, and programmers also find iClip to be useful in their more specialized tasks.
"For iClip 3, we've continued to improve it's usefulness by adding all-new pop-up previews and file launcher capabilities. iClip now uses the Valentina database engine for increased performance and future expandability. We also recruited renowned Mac graphic designer, Mike Matas, for some great new artwork," said John Casasanta, President of Inventive.
Pricing and Availability
iClip is available now for Mac OS X as a "try-before-you-buy" download at http://inventive.us/iClip/. It can be purchased for $19.95 USD and the version 3 upgrade is free to registered users of any previous version.

PC-Mac PasswordVault v3.0 adds large organization support and portability
ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- May 18, 2004 -- Lava Software is now shipping PC-Mac PasswordVault v3.0, a password manager which securely stores website usernames and passwords, Internet banking data and software registration details for convenient and easy access on Windows, MacOS X and MacOS Classic computers. A Linux version is coming soon.
New features in this version include a random password generator, auto-lock timer (with clipboard clear), very powerful import and export functions, masked passwords, combination service type labels, an 'All' category which displays all services, and enhanced support for use in large organizations. Service categories can now be added and changed, and service data files can be saved to any location (such as encrypted disk images).
The new portable version, called 'PC-Mac PasswordVault2Go', runs directly on USB drives, iPods, Zip disks, etc. connected to any Windows or MacOS computer, and comes bundled with the PC-Mac PasswordVault package. It can be set to auto-synchronize to a desktop installation, allowing users to easily and securely bring their password collections with them on the road. This is especially useful for students and travellers, who use a variety of different computers to access the Internet.
Large organizations, such as universities, government departments and companies, are now fully supported. Service collections (website passwords, access codes, etc) for an organization can be regularly updated and securely distributed to users via email or download. Users can easily import these updates, whilst adding and maintaining their own services as well. The unique Master Password Recovery System (MPRS) built into PC-Mac PasswordVault virtually eliminates help desk user support problems with lost passwords.
