Fun retro software makes a comeback
Before Mac OS X, there were always lots of fun, useless little programs that did quirky things. Two of them are now available for Mac OS X.
Many oldtimers will remember MacPuke, which made a gross sound when the Mac ejected a disk. Well, it's back, and like the original version, it wears thin pretty quickly.
Mystery Science Theater fans may remember the old Torgo screen saver, based on a character from Manos: the Hands of Fate, which is generally believed to be the worst movie ever made. The new Mac OS X version works with the standard system screen saver. I strongly suggest turning off the sound if you use it.

How to never lose Pepsi's iTunes giveaway
The guys at MacMerc figured out a foolproof way to win tunes every time with Pepsi's new iTunes labeled bottles.
If you tilt a sealed, new Pepsi bottle at 25 degrees and squint at the underside of the cap, you can tell whether it's a winning free-iTunes-track bottle or a try-again bottle.
(I *still* haven't seen any Pepsi bottles with yellow caps here)
