A New Look At Mac OS X

Tired of the bland, default Mac OS X theme? Try Themechanger, coupled with the theme Milk.

Themechanger, a program that allows you to completely change the look of many programs in OS X by using themes, can be found at "Clichesw.com" . Milk, the theme I am currently using, takes away the metal look of the applications, but does not replace with the equally ugly manilla, lined look of Aqua. Milk can be found at "Homepage.mac.com" .

Many other themes can be found at "Resexcellence.com" .

Enjoy!

FolderControl 1.20

Derman Enterprises announces an update to FolderControl,
the utility that automatically sets up, sizes and arranges your Finder's
folder windows into settings and configurations you define.

By request, FolderControl 1.20 adds a drag 'n drop window to provide a
convenient drag 'n drop target when processing folders. In addition,
many "under the cover" improvements are included. The previous 1.10
update also added preference sets so you can easily use different
preference configurations, each of which gives you control over:

  • which folders participate in the processing

  • how folder windows are sized, both vertically and horizontally

  • how sub-folder windows are arranged, relative to their enclosing folder

  • how various folder-window attributes, such as sorting and view kind,
    are set

  • setting the permissions on the files that control these capabilities

FolderControl has the most popular setup configurations pre-defined.
Most users can use it without any further configuration.

FolderControl requires Mac OS X 10.2 or newer and can be downloaded via
http://www.derman.com/. A trial version is available and a license can
be purchased for $21.95 USD (1.20 is free for current FolderControl
licensees).
