EarthDesk 2.0.1 Update Released
-------------------------------
We are pleased to announce the release of EarthDesk 2.0.1, a free update to EarthDesk 2.0, the wildly popular dynamic desktop map application.
EarthDesk replaces your static desktop picture with an animated, real-time rendered image of the Earth, continuously updating in the background while you work. The software supports eleven different map projections, political and satellite views, and renders accurate sun, moon and city lighting. This second generation release offers vastly improved performance and efficiency with preemptive multitasking, higher quality maps and full multi-display support.
Fixes in 2.0.1:
- Fixed a bug that could prevent evaluation under MacOS X 10.1.5.
- Fixed a potential crash in the Robinson map at zoom levels under 100%.
- Desktop pictures which are tiled patterns are now restored properly.
- Correctly restores desktops which change pictures periodically.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the license key to not be saved.
- If the application file is renamed, it will no longer fail to launch.
- Changed the command for "Set Home Location" from Cmd-H to Cmd-L.
EarthDesk requires a Macintosh computer with MacOS 9.1+ or MacOS X 10.1+.
Single user copies of EarthDesk may be purchased online for $19.95 while registered users of any previous 1.x version of EarthDesk are eligible to upgrade to version 2 for $9.95.

MacHack Changes
Several changes were announced for next year's MacHack. The name is changing to Advanced Developers Hands On Conference (ADHOC) and the date is moving to the last week of July.
The name change reflects a widening focus on open source systems and alternate platforms (but not Windows) and a management change.
