RealNetworks introduces subscription-based downloads
RealNetworks today announced RealOne RHAPSODY, a subscription-based service offering more than 330,000 tracks for on-demand listening and more than 200,000 songs available for burning to CD at $0.79 per track.
Unlike Apple's iTunes Music Store, RealOne RHAPSODY costs $9.95/month for a subscription in addition to 0.79 per track.
This is a perfect example of why the iTunes Music Store is a big winner. People would rather be able to buy a track any time without any commitment rather than signing up for a subscription.

Stream your music with MP3 Sushi
If you miss internet streaming in iTunes 4.0.1, you can restore that functionality with MP3 Sushi.
Unlike iTunes, MP3 Sushi lets anyone browse your music collection in any web browser, even if they aren't using a Mac. It also provides a continuous radio stream. It doesn't support AAC, however.
If you're using a router, open port 8888 to allow browsing your music collection & 8010 for the radio. Both features work cross-platform, and streams can be listened to in iTunes.

A FileMaker Pro killer?
FileMaker Magazine has a review of Servoy , a new database application tool: " Do I think Servoy will replace FileMaker Pro, in short, no. One advantage is that both applications have similar environments that facilitate the creative side of application development. If I was going to develop a solution that would likely only require a few hundred thousand records then I'll likely do it in FileMaker Pro. If I need a solution I can distribute to a hundred customers so they can each maintain their own data set then I'll use FileMaker Pro. If I'm going to integrate data from different sources or manage a solution that uses a SQL backend then I'll likely choose Servoy."
