Two iTunes Tips
Here's a useful iTunes script and a utility to control iTunes.
The following script, which you can add to your scripts menu, will do a google search on the currently playing track:
tell application "iTunes" to set t to ¬
(name of current track) & " " & ¬
(artist of current track)
open location ("http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=" ¬
& t & "&btnG=Google+Search")
Everyone who uses iTunes should check out PTHiTunesNotifier, a free utility which provides a few convenient ways to control iTunes. It adds a set of controls to the menu bar to pause or continue and go to the previous or next track. You can also assign hotkeys to those functions, which makes it very easy to quickly stop iTunes when the phone rings (if you hit the mute key, iTunes will continue playing even though the sound is silenced).
Safari 1.0b2 (v74) fixes security hole
A Safari update to fix a security hole involving SSL certificates is now available via the Software Update panel. This update is recommended for all Safari users and improves how Safari validates the authenticity of websites that use SSL certificates.
