ImageCaster and InterView for Mac OS X

Econ Technologies' newest software, ImageCaster, has been

bundled with XLR8's InterView 2.1, a device that captures and converts

analog video to digital format. ImageCaster, the åwebcam-to-web simplified√

application built for Mac OS X, is added to an already impressive bundle

that includes Strata Video Shop 4.5 and QuickTime Pro 5.0.

InterView 2.1 opens the door to a lot of video devices for Mac OS X. It

converts S-Video and RCA composite to a USB connection. "With the InterView

device, almost any video source can now be used with OS X. Mac OS X users go

from having a few webcam choices to hundreds - that's awesome!" said Joseph

Japes, Director of Marketing and Quality Assurance for Econ Technologies.

ImageCaster is a straightforward and easy to use webcam application built

exclusively for Mac OS X. ImageCaster is designed around a simple tabbed

interface with a full set of features. Anyone can broadcast images with a

Mac, a video camera, and ImageCaster. Add InterView 2.1 to the mix and your

camera choices go up a hundred fold. ImageCaster automatically recognizes

the InterView driver keeping the whole process simple.

InterView and ImageCaster can be used for more than a webcam. InterView 2.1

can be used to capture video from any source for other applications and

ImageCaster can upload images to any mounted volume or file server, not just

FTP servers. "You can save images to a folder with ImageCaster and use

inexpensive analog security cameras using InterView for an effective,

inexpensive security solution. InterView and ImageCaster have a lot more

uses than just setting up webcams," said Japes.

Built for Mac OS X with QuickTime technology throughout, check out InterView

2.1 and ImageCaster at the Apple QuickTime pavilion at MacWorld New York.

"Even in this extended worldwide downturn, Apple is continuing to be profitable and continuing to innovate," said Steve Jobs, Apple√s CEO. "We√re working hard to attract new customers with our 'Switchers' advertising campaign and our 31 retail stores, and we√re continuing to invest in a strong slate of new products, some of which we'll talk more about at Macworld New York tomorrow."

"Despite the slowdown in the market, our operational efficiency was excellent," said Fred Anderson, Apple√s CFO. "Our balance sheet is very strong, with $4.3 billion in cash, and we achieved a very efficient cash conversion cycle of -36 days. We expect September quarter revenues to be approximately flat with the June quarter, and expect a slight profit for the quarter before any non-recurring items."
