Cologne, Germany – “Sunny Hillride” is the fast, fun and colorful new game from Headup Games (German Game Developer award for Best Publisher 2012). The new mobile game is all about rapid response delivery.
In “Sunny Hillride” the whole family is planning a turbulent and more than crazy vacation. The children, the parrot, suitcases and all kinds of other stuff end up in, and on, the much too small car. Ropes and even tape, is being used to secure everything. Still, it is a pretty shaky construction that the player has to try and navigate across the screen. The important thing is to arrive at the finish line, without loosing too much.
“Sunny Hillride” is a One-Touch game. All it takes is the index finger or thumb to guide the rickety car across country – or rather up and down the mountains.
The car moves automatically from the left to the right, all the way through a scrolling, hilly setting. Every time the family car speeds down the valley, the player puts his finger on the screen to really get some speed going. On the steep path up the hill the finger is taken off the screen. This way the player can gain some momentum.
In no time at all the family car gains so much speed that it takes off from the mountain top and flies in a high arc through the air. Now is the perfect time to perform those dangerous stunts, before it lands on solid ground again. It is important to remember that the car needs to land really softly. Should it crash against a mountain slope the accident will not only slow the car down, but it also gradually dismantle it.
In order to accumulate points, the player is able to collect gold coins along the way. Additionally, the flying car can snatch up floating power-ups and souvenirs. A power up turns the rickety car into a strong bully bus, for example.
“Sunny Hillride” constantly provides variety. The player starts each level in the Story Mode. However, he may also try to get as fare as he possible can in the Endless mode – without running out of gas. Changing sceneries display lush meadows, snow-capped mountains, sunny forests and hot deserts – always accompanied by a groovy, jazzy soundtrack. Many achievements, and trying to beat the High Score in the Game Center, provide an additional game incentive.
