Amstelveen, The Netherlands – Calendars are as much about official holidays, school holidays, and things like sports events as they are about your own events. The just released Easy Calendar version 2.3 (iOS) now integrates a convenient solution to prevent you from having to gather and enter such public events yourself.
This so-called Calendar Subscription Store is a result of Easy Calendar’s collaboration with SchedJoules, a company that currently supplies more than 3,000 different calendar subscriptions worldwide. Apart from official, religious, and school holidays, and lots of (local) sports events they also deliver local weather and financial data subscriptions. All these calendars are ranked and categorized depending on your country and relevancy. Being presented in an App-Store-like ‘calendar shop’ subscribing to one of them is just a few taps away.
Most calendars cost $0.99 (a few exceptions for some more valuable information) and typically include a bundle of related calendars for that same amount.
Easy Calendar was already downloaded more than 300,000 times and is ranked 4 to 5 stars on average because of it ease of use: adding and editing events with just 2 or 3 taps. The app syncs with iCloud, Outlook, Google Calendar and CalDAV calendars and is available in the English, Spanish, Dutch, French and German language.
SchedJoules publishes the world’s leading Calendar Store. The Calendar Store serves complete, accurate and reliable calendars in the categories Sports, Holidays, Weather and Finance to users on iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone. Partners like Easy Calendar benefit from adding the Calendar Store to their app by generating additional in-app revenues. SchedJoules serves 2 million users totaling 20 million calendar refreshes daily.

Easy Calendar was developed by Tom van Zummeren, Jim van Zummeren and Jos Jong (Devista B.V.). The team concluded that most existing calendar apps require too many taps for basic day-to-day tasks. Their cooperative design follows the 80/20 rule: simplicity at its core, but with an opportunity to access advanced features when required. This family business has been growing quickly since the introduction of Easy Calendar in March, 2011. Copyright (C) 2013 Tom van Zummeren, Jim van Zummeren and Jos Jong. All Rights Reserved.
